The old settlement of this term is not known data prior to the Romanization. It was only after the change of era that a series of rustic villas were established in the slightly elevated areas, which protruded from the plains and marshes that formed the landscape, whose remains, almost totally destroyed by the first vineyards and later citrus plantations, they arise as soon as something is deepened in the ground.

The Roman settlement must have begun in the 1st century AD, as seems to indicate the discovery of a silver denarius of the Acilia family, from the year 54 BC. C., together with a bronze ace of Domitian from the year 82 of the era, and it lasted, without a doubt, until Muslim times, already linked to historical times.

It belonged to Gandía from which it was dismembered in 1535. It had the lordship Vicente Ferrer and later the Count of Almenara. The expulsion of the Moors left the town uninhabited, for which a new Puebla letter had to be granted in 1612.

Economy

The lands are irrigated, growing mainly the orange tree and vegetables. There are orange handling and service industries It should be noted that according to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Generalitat Valenciana in 2002 the municipality had a total of 152 ha for the cultivation of citrus (62 ha Sweet orange, 90 ha Mandarin) seeing this area notably reduced, as can be seen in the data for 2007, with a total of 106 ha (60 ha Sweet orange, 45 ha Mandarin and 1 ha Lemon tree.

One of the strengths of the economy is tourism, which triples the number of inhabitants during the summer months.

At present, the municipality of Daimuz presents a very important residential development, such that, it has come to fill a large part of its municipal surface with buildings, highlighting the townhouses, semi-detached houses and single-family housing in the part immediately after the built line of coast and has expanded its block building in the domains in its beach area. That is why the population of Daimuz has a high aptitude for housing a population in first residence, abandoning its old configuration of a tourist municipality of second residence. Despite this, there is evidence of a timid development of the services sector.

Daimuz participates in the Accessible Beaches Plan of the Valencian Community, and its beach is suitable for the disabled.

Monuments

Parish Church. It is dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle.

Former washing machine, located in the current Assagador street, was the place where women used to wash dirty clothes and of which vestiges of their presence still remain today. It stands out for being the beginning of a series of ditches due to the source of subsoil water. This is the reason why it was located there, for having clear, pure and clean water to wash clothes. It is currently pending restoration.

At the moment the streets of the old town are being pedestrianized, therefore, walking through it is much more comfortable and beautiful.

Local parties

Festivals. It dedicates its festivities to San Pedro Apóstol on June 29. Currently and in recent years, these festivals have grown exponentially, especially the day dedicated to the Moors and Christians. On that day, there are parades of Moors and Christians of great beauty and spectacularity. Other emotional days are especially those dedicated to the patron of the town.

On the other hand, parties are also held in ´´los Pedregales´´ in honor of Santiago Apóstol and on the beach; all of them during the summer months.
