In the surrounding area, guests can take part in many sports, including tennis, squash, bowling, golf, horse riding and swimming.
There are also many fine places to visit on a day trip from the Kolmsteiner Hof. The Czech border and the Bohemian Forest are only a few kilometres away, as are the pretty towns of Taus and Klattau, and the Bayerwald animal park. The Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Passau are also well worth a visit.
