Built in the 3rd century and surrounding the city itself, the wall was built as a defense to the Roman city of Lucus. It is a fascinating architectural structure spanning two kilometers. This place is described by UNESCO as "a notable example of the type of building and architectural and archaeological group that illustrates several significant periods of human history."
