Dating from the ninth century, Woundales Farm offers luxurious rooms with a flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, ironing supplies, and a pack of playing cards. The beds have high-quality bed linen and feather and down duvets and pillows (anti-allergenic alternatives available upon request). Each has a Nespresso coffee machine, fresh milk, and treats such as homemade macaroons, shortbread, and fudge. With heated towel rails, the en suite bathrooms offer a hairdryer, bathrobes, toiletries, and scales.
In the mornings a buffet of both cooked and cold breakfast items is served, including high quality locally sourced bacon, sausage and eggs in addition to smoked salmon, fruit, greek yoghurt, cereals, granola, croissants, toast and preserves. Guests have use of their own dining and sitting rooms complete with cosy log fires. There are multiple dining options in the local area, ranging from country pubs to Michelin-star restaurants.
In the foothills above Thirsk, Woundales Farm has direct access to miles of footpaths and scenic cycle routes. It also offers fast access to the motorway network. The village of Borrowby is just 10 minutes' walk away.
