It opened in 2005 and includes the regions of Moraga, Corcovado, Cipresal 1, Los Cuervos and Lot 3 Linahua, all sectors where there is significant biodiversity, with approximately 133 flora species, 18 mammal species and 64 bird species. It includes a property donated by Douglas Tompkins, who was the first to point to the creation of a National Park in this wonderful place.

The Corcovado National Park has 209,623 hectares and, so far, hinders access, which can only be done without problems by air or sea, because there are no paths or paths by land, contributed to maintain the territory of this park as a all. a first-rate ecological refuge protected from the most negative effects of human activity in fragile areas.

Thus, one of the main motivations for creating this area of ​​protection was the conservation of the native ecosystem and the public use that could be given from an educational and recreational point of view. This last objective is consistent with the efforts made to create a publicly accessible entrance, enabling a sector adjacent to Villa Santa Lucía.









Located in region X of Los Lagos, south of the province of Palena.

The access roads are land, sea and air. By land, access to the north is via the southern longitudinal road that connects Puerto Montt to the town of Hornopiren and from the south, by the same road that connects Chaitén to Coyhaique and Villa O'Higgins in the Aysén region.
