Fuzeta
Fuseta is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Olhão in the district of Faro, situated in the region of Sotavento Algarvio, with 0.36 km² of area. Density: 5 327.8 hab / km². It belonged to the municipality of Tavira until 1876.
Tourism
The main activity of this village continues to be fishing and its derivatives, emerging now tourism, due to the beach, near the Island of Armona-Fuseta and the Camping that hosts hundreds of visitors in the summer. Land of fishermen, still preserves many of its houses in a cubic form, topped by terraces - the roofs - from where the curious balloon chimneys appear, characterizing this area of the Algarve.
The Mother Church keeps some good images of the century. XVIII. Its churchyard is a viewpoint over the village, with vast horizons of the estuary and the sea. The fishing port, colored by the boats, as well as the beach and all the riverside area, whose environmental recovery was recently awarded, are obligatory visits. There are regular boat connections to the island of Fuseta-Armona. The tour can continue to the mirrored rectangles of the salt flats, the ruins of the watchtowers of Torre de Bias, Cumeada and Alfanxina, parallel to the Ria Formosa and to the sea, to the springs of water of the Olheiros, to the north of the Villa, which are attributed medicinal virtues . If you want to have a panoramic view of 180º of the landscape captured from the site of this Tower. These towers (as well as the Tower of Aires, which can be visited in the municipality of Tavira), were already built around 1590 and would serve to guard the coast against pirate attacks. In 1841, João Baptista Silva Lopes refers in his "Choreography or Economic, Statistical and Topographical Memory of the Kingdom of the Algarve" that all these towers were already in ruins.
Another place of interest is the old Cinema Topaz, nowadays used for other purposes.
Cultural civil architecture, contemporary. Characteristic of the broad diffusion and vulgarization of the architectural lexicon of the Modern Movement, in its mature period, in local peripheral promotions. Special emphasis is given to the graphic design of the facade signs and to the detailed design of the outdoor lighting equipment, for example, characteristic of the 1950s and made here using traditional technologies and materials.
Fishermen's House Neighborhood of Fuseta
Adjacent to the consolidated urban network of the village of Fuseta, the O. of this, the neighborhood of houses for fishermen is located only 80m from the front of the river and in position overlooking the surrounding landscape, taking advantage of the slight slope that, in the direction NO. - SE., Develops between the railway line that surrounds the agglomerate and that lagoon system.

Beaches
Fuseta has an island where you can easily and quickly arrive in one of the regular boat races that intensify during the summer. They are extensions of fine sand and warm water, which both provide calm and quiet moments in the less frequented areas as the activities boating: canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, motor boating and diving count with great local support.
Located in the perimeter of the Ria Formosa, the islands have the best natural conditions for the development of these activities, and Fuseta is one of the most sought-after beaches in the Algarve.
In addition to the islands, we can also find in Fuseta Ria Beach, one of the few national beaches with accessibility for people with reduced mobility and blue flag.

In September, it was the grape harvest, following the grapes to the wineries that existed in Fuseta, the Adega da Tia Ameixinha, the Winery of Mr. Fernando Rolão and the Cellar of the Lord Emídio, grandmother of the late Dr. Luís Macedo, a Fusetense physician born to May 1, 1936.
These wineries existed in the early twentieth century, where the wine was manufactured, and lasted until the beginning of the 50's, when it was continued by Mr. Macedo.
