Armona Island
The Island of Armona is a Portuguese island. It belongs to the municipality of Olhão, being integrated in the Natural Park of Ria Formosa (Latitude: 37.03ºN, Longitude: 7.77ºW). The connection to the city of Olhão is made daily, hourly, in the summer, with a slightly reduced schedule in the winter.
The island consists of beaches facing the Ria Formosa and facing the sea. It has a campsite and rental huts, and it is also possible to rent private houses. There are also several restaurants, near the pier, some of them with family tradition, passed from generation to generation.
The nautical sports enthusiasts also find in Armona a good place to practice them. Canoeing, sailing and diving are just a few examples. Recreational fishing is also quite popular.
In addition to the inhabited part of the island, there is a wilder section, where you can find, for example, chameleons and other specimens of the local fauna.

Tourism
The beach is situated at the extreme west of Armona Island, near Barra Grande and the small fishing village of fishermen, and once again you have to cross the labyrinths of sand and vasa of the Ria Formosa to reach it. There is a campsite on this Island and it is possible to count on efficient local support to carry out various nautical activities. The sandy barrier is consistent and very wide, the sand is out of sight and extends to the source, to the beach of Fuseta, providing moments of tranquility for those who like to hike or have a private boat. The sand banks next to the bar delimit delicious natural pools. Here you can also see the rich and aromatic flora of the dunes, as well as enjoy the warm winds of the east and enjoy the invariably warm tones of the sunset.
Notes: The chains next to the bar are usually very strong, being necessary caution.
Hits: By boat (regular routes) from Faro, Olhão and Fuseta. Various support equipment (restaurants and toilets) and surveillance during the bathing season. Orientation: southeast.
