Tourism
Perhaps the most characteristic of the city is its main gate, which is closely linked to history and commerce since its inception. It is divided into two areas, one for large and one for smaller vessels. In its streets we find several terraces, shops and restaurants.
The Church of St. Francis of Paula. We are probably in the most prominent religious building in the city, a very simple 18th century temple form.
The clock tower. This is an old watchtower that was built between 1772 and 1775. In French it is known by the post of Carrée de l'Horloge, and is located on the same door.

Gastronomy
Toulon cuisine is typically Mediterranean, influenced by the regions of Provence, Liguria and Piedmont. Their main dishes are lamb and pork hands and guts, zucchini fritters, polenta, poutine (fried sardines), nicoise salad, pesto soup, tapenade and fish soup called bouillabaisse, among others.
Local wine is well known, the Domaine du Clos highlighting Lamalgue.
When it comes to desserts, Toulon has a varied offer of a kind of meringue pie known as galet du Mourillon with almonds and white chocolate.

Weather
Toulon has a Mediterranean climate, characterized by abundant sunshine, very dry summers, frequent rainfall and high temperatures, and mild winters due to its proximity to the sea.
The average temperature in January, the coldest month, is 9 ° C, the highest in France, with maximum average temperatures of 13 ° C and minimum of 6 ° C, the average of July, the warmest month, is 24 ° C , with a maximum of 29 ° C and a minimum of 19 ° C.
The annual precipitation is 665 mm. The driest month is July, with 6.6 mm, the wettest month is October with 94 mm. It rains less than 60 days a year and is unevenly distributed. February is the month that rains most often with 7 days, but only 89 millimeters. The month is July tends to rain less about day and a half.
With its proximity to the sea, ice or snow are rare weather phenomena.
However, Toulon's mild climate could not obscure one disadvantage: the wind. There are more than 115 windy days. The windiest month is January, with an average of 12.5 days of strong wind. The least windy is September 7 days a month.
