Bavaro
Bavaro is a touristic area in Punta Cana, located in La Altagracia province, the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. [1] Bavaro was developed together with the resort area and tourist region of Punta Cana, as a town for resort workers. The hotels started to rise along the east coast, north from Punta Cana, Bavaro itself became a center of services.
Tourism
Between palm trees and coconut palms, you can enjoy the Playa Bavaro, a beautiful 3 km long beach of fine white sand, bathed by turquoise waters.
Gastronomy
Playa Bávaro has the best restaurants with a wide range of typical Dominican cuisine and a range of international specialties.

Have lunch in front of a flamingo lagoon or in a Caribbean restaurant; watch as you roast on a grill to the sound of musical groups that soften dinner. In the restaurants and bars you can taste the most delicious dishes of Dominican and international cuisine.
Weather
Bavaro's climate is essentially tropical with warm, humid weather all year round. Temperatures vary little throughout the year; monthly average temperatures range from 24ºC to 28ºC. The year is divided into two distinct seasons: wet and dry. The hurricane season is between June and November.

The dry season runs from December to April and is the most popular time to visit. The start of this season has the best weather as it is not only dry but also the best time of the year. Average temperatures are at the lowest 24ºC in January and February, with highs of 27ºC and lows of 22ºC. It is rare for temperatures to drop below 20 ° C, even at night. Temperature and humidity gradually increase towards the rainy season. Although daytime temperatures can rise to 30 ° C, the heat is generally lessened by the refreshing trade winds that visit the island. The 'alize' is a well-known Caribbean commercial wind that blows constant northeast breezes, especially between November and February. Located on the east coast of the island, Bavaro is the perfect place to benefit from alize.

One of the main characteristics of Bavaro's climate is that it is in the Caribbean hurricane belt. The official hurricane season lasts from June to November, but in the Dominican Republic the months of August and September are most likely for a thunderstorm to pass through the area. On average, the island is only affected by a hurricane every 5 years, and a direct impact is even less common, occurring once every 20 years on average.

Although heavy storms are a feature of the rainy season, most cause minor damage. The region is well prepared in case of a hurricane and most hotels are now hurricane proof. Many actually choose the rainy season to visit in order to enjoy less crowds and cheaper prices. If you are willing to risk some downpours, it is not a bad idea, although the trip to the area should be preceded by some research on anticipated hurricane activity.
