Portofino
Portofino (Italian pronunciation: [ˌpɔrtofiːno]; Ligurian: Portofin) is an Italian fishing village and upmarket resort famous for its picturesque harbor and historical association with celebrity visitors. It is a comune located in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. The town is crowded round its small harbor, is closely associated with Paraggi Beach, which is a few minutes up the coast. Other nearby beaches include Camogli, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Sestri Levante.
Tourism
The most impressive thing about Portofino is the lifestyle, so running and "seeing the landscape" probably will not be your number one priority when planning your trip. There are some notable attractions that may be able to lure you to the beaches, but the view of the harbor or any of the nearby beaches is unforgettable.
Castello Brown is a 16th / strong castle once used for the defense of the area but now mostly a museum with a fantastic view over the harbor and the Mediterranean sea.
The church of St Martin (Divo Martino) is just around the corner from the harbor and is a small, elegant chiesa from the 11th century. And definitely worth taking a casual walk around the same.

One of the best things you can do in Portofino is to relax. Walk through the small town, listen to the sea, rest at the end of the Marconi pier on the left. There is a small wine bar where you have an opportunity to drink something sitting less than a meter from the sea.

In addition, you can visit the Bay of San Fruttuoso and try to see the sculpture of Christ from the Abyss. It is an unforgettable experience.
Gastronomy
The glamorous village of Portofino is the jewel of the Ligurian crown, where the
anchovies, swordfish, sea bass, etc., is an epitome of the Mediterranean diet and characterized by the use of fresh herbs and vegetables such as basil, bay leaf, fennel, marjoram, zucchini, eggplant and light extra- virgin and perfumed wines.

Local specialties in the area include Focaccia alla Genovese (delicious Syrian bread) and Pesto Genovese (sauce made with basil, pine nuts, walnuts, Parmigiano and Pecorino cheese, and large olive oil and garlic, all served with pasta).
Weather
Thanks to its close proximity to a wide and deep sea, to its Southern exposure and to the existence of a Mountain Chain, that defends this Region from Northern cold winds, the Ligurian Riviera is an ideal destination for a stay all the year round.
This peculiarity has been appreciated since the end of XIX century, when the Ligurian Riviera became an internationally renowned health resort.
Average temperature from November to February is 11 °, from March to May 20 °, during July and August is around 25 ° to low in September and October around 19 °.
