Formerly it was known as the Balmaceda terrace, which was demolished to occupy the land in the construction of modern apartment buildings. Until 1955, it was an obligatory place to perform dances in front of the sea and celebrate the “spring festival”, with challas and streamers. The oldest porteños will evoke with nostalgia and emotion these candid and beautiful parties that will never return.
It is on the Los Placeres hill between the Yolanda descent and the San Luis climb, next to the Santa María University.
Valparaíso is located 112 km. from Santiago de Chile.
There are several alternatives to get to Valparaíso:
By bus
The trip takes 1 hour 45 minutes from Santiago. Existing departures with a frequency of 15 minutes, the bus companies offer a good level of service and comfort.
By car
For those who wish to arrive by car from Santiago, they should take Route 68, the estimated travel time being 1 hour and 30 minutes.
It has a beautiful view of the hills and the bay.
