The complex has 10 hectares of extension and is located at more than 3,200 meters above sea level. The constructions originally belonged to the Chanca culture (600-900 AD), but were later occupied by the Incas; They are pyramidal in shape and surrounded by walls and terraces that lead to platforms with wide open spaces.
21 km northeast of the city of Andahuaylas (30 minutes by car), you reach the Pacucha lagoon and from there you travel 2 km (30 minutes on foot) to the archaeological site.
Apparently, in Sondor they would have developed religious activities; This can be deduced from the location and shape of the central pyramid and its strategic vision towards the Pacucha lagoon.
